A few weeks ago in On The Rise, I shared some staggering Barna data: practicing Christians trust AI more than the average person does. Not less, more.
They're using it to understand scripture, and some are even using it as a spiritual guide.
The people in our churches aren't waiting for us to figure this out. They're already living in it. People are asking AI their questions (including, increasingly, their spiritual ones) every single day.
And most church leaders are responding with one of two postures: panic or denial.
But neither one is leadership.
I get it, you already have a full plate... the last thing you need is one more seismic shift to navigate.
So here is how I want to encourage you: the leaders who thrived through every previous disruption, from the printing press to the internet, weren't the ones who ignored it. They were the ones who asked better questions earlier.
What does this shift mean for preaching? For pastoral care? For the actual humans sitting in your pews?
