Hi Reader,
What if I told you that one of the most valuable things you do as a leader is to stare at a blinking cursor?
Well, I'm telling you... it is.
That's actually what I was doing while I was thinking about what to write to you today: staring at this screen, pondering/thinking about/praying about what to write.
I almost toggled to Claude to ask it what I should write about. But I didn't.
It's easier every day to get a machine to think for you, to do the heavy work, to make it so you don't have to think.
Except, as a leader, that's one of the most important skills you bring to the table: your thinking.
Every day, leaders are delegating more and more of their brain, their creativity, and their agency to a machine.
“
As a leader, one of the most important skills you bring to the table is your thinking.
|
Which actually makes your agency... your ability to think, dream, imagine, and create... an even more valuable skill.
So stare a little longer. God, and your future, are in the delay.
AI isn't going away
That's what my new book wrestles with.
The question isn't whether you'll use it... the question is whether you'll still be doing the thinking, praying, and creating that only you can do.
AI and the Future Church is a practical guide to leading in an AI age without losing your soul (or your church's) in the process.

P.S. I use AI every day, but I'm more determined than ever to give my brain a workout. Muscles atrophy when you don't use them. Same with your mind.
