What if your hardest years aren’t wasted?

Hi Reader,

Have you ever hit a point where you wanted to pack it in? Thinking this just isn't worth it.

I've been there.

My guest today, Philip Anthony Mitchell, has too. And his story goes much deeper than you might expect. He recently launched the #1 book in the world, filled stadiums with 80,000 people at prayer. And yet, just a few, short years ago, he was so discouraged he was suicidal.

He had his challenges before that too. Today on the podcast, Philip opens up about his battle with jealousy during a decade of ministry that seemed to go nowhere. He also shares, with remarkable vulnerability, his struggles with depression and the moments when his pain became so overwhelming that he considered taking his own life.

We talk about my own burnout, the darkness leaders often suffer through privately, and what it looks like to find hope when you can't see a way forward.

At one point, Philip lost it as he explained why even the extraordinary success he's experiencing today can't give him what he finds in his relationship with Jesus.

If you're walking through a difficult season, or you're wondering whether the pain you've experienced has any purpose, I really hope you'll listen.

I'm more convinced than ever that leaders are tempted to quit moments before their critical breakthrough.
